Pre-Health Summer Internship Program
This internship offers professional development and enrichment opportunities to highly motivated undergraduate pre-health students in an effort to expose them to the overwhelming health disparity crises that exist in our nation. The four week program is an unpaid internship that consists of a comprehensive series of workshops, clinical shadowing, community outreach and service learning opportunities. Students receive clinical experience while also learning about the lack of access to quality health care for the underserved communities in Miami-Dade County. Our goal is to teach students how they can make a difference in their communities through their future medical careers. Click Here to download the application.
Community Health Service Corps
This is a part-time, paid internship program that is offered throughout the school year to pre-health students and health professional students. Students are trained to become health educators and presenters primarily for our PHASES program and occasionally for health fairs and other various programs as needed. Through this internship students will gain valuable knowledge about health promotion, preventative education as well as program development and implementation. Students are not only given the opportunity to assist in the adaptation of current curriculum content and materials, but they are also encouraged to help Miami-Dade AHEC create new and innovative curriculum topics and programs. Students must be able to commit to a minimum of one semester and approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. Schedules are flexible.
